This year all our proceeds go toward Nik and Stacy's adoption expenses. Below is a little bit about them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We both grew up in the midwest – Nik in Wisconsin and Stacy in Ohio.
We each left the snow for North Carolina, where we met in 2008
While dating we discovered we had many
things in common – one being a desire to adopt someday. In the first 3
years of marriage we discussed adoption many times, but knew God would
lead us in the right time; His time.
And here we are today….pinching
ourselves, often wondering if this beauty of adopting a child, that has
for so long been a desire and prayer, is now something God is indeed
leading us to step out in faith and pursue.
The title of our blog is “Abounding
Joy”. There are a lot of things that bring us joy. We find great joy
in our conversations with each other, soaking in the beauty of God’s
creation on our weekly hikes, our family and friends, our church family,
and our jobs (Nik is a Pastor and Stacy a Medical Assistant).
However there is a joy that surpasses
all of these joys…One that makes these things seem so dim and trivial;
and that is the joy that God has put in our hearts through Jesus Christ.
God brings Psalm 4:7 to my mind frequently. As King David cries out
to God to hear his call, he then closes in saying:
“You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.”
We have indeed found this to be true.
We’ve been richly blessed with many joys in this life; and we don’t
take that for granted, however, there is no joy that can compare with
the joy that God has placed in our hearts; hence the name of our blog.
Additionally, we are confident that when God brings this little one
into our home, our joy will abound more and more…and we can’t wait!
